The B/Mc water truck spray valve, built in the USA since 1971. Two models share one valve body and one rebuild kit — the difference is only how they are actuated.
B/Mc Spray Valve — Pneumatic
The standard B/Mc spray valve for water trucks with an onboard air system. Randco part 03-001. Formerly the Bertolini 71A-3.
Air actuated and normally closed — with no control pressure the valve stays shut, so a burst line or a lost air supply cannot dump the tank. The opening is adjustable, so spray pattern and volume are set at the valve rather than by swapping nozzles.
The inlet is grooved, so the valve can be mounted and clocked to whatever orientation gives the coverage the truck needs.

The strainer is not optional. The solenoid has a small opening and is the part that suffers first from debris in the supply.

The valve body and the coil are separate parts, which is why the voltage is chosen by coil rather than by valve.

At 10 watts the coil draws roughly 0.8 A at 12 VDC or 0.4 A at 24 VDC — size the circuit and switch accordingly.
Side spray nozzle
The side spray nozzle bolts onto the outlet of a B/Mc spray valve and turns a front or rear spray into a side spray or street flusher. It is a banded clamp with a flat deflector plate, so it fits the same grooved outlet the valve already has — no plumbing changes and no second valve.

Four wear parts, one kit, fits both models. Rebuild Kit 70-064 covers diagram items 4, 5, 6 and 8 — the ball, spring, stem and diaphragm.
